Apple never retroactively updates their info as they rather sell you a new MacBook Pro! The 16gb will definitely work in this MacBook Pro, we've sold hundreds of them into thi model with no issues. Here is the link for the correct 16gb kit. So I diagnose. Put in 1 by 1 the 2 old RAM modules on each port to be sure ports are not faulty. All good. Insert 1 of the new modules, on each port All good Insert 2nd new module Beep Swap around new modules, so the module that now causes the beep is inserted alone.
